Hello, campers! How is everyone? I’m so excited! It is the new year, I hope you all had good exams and passed to the next year! Anyways, let’s start that article, I’m sure you will love it because it talks about a great item, the Riptide!

Riptide, also known as Anaklusmos, is a sword made of Celestial Bronze, a material that can harm everything but mortals. The sword was forged in the fires of Mount Etna and cooled in the River Lethe. However, it seems too basic, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not! 

The sword isn’t the only form of Riptide, because we also have the dormant form! In the dormant form, Riptide is a common disposable ballpoint pen, but after uncapped, it turns into the big 3-foot-sized sword.

Even if in the saga, Percy Jackson is the owner of Riptide, we have our own owner of the sword here in the camp, no one else than the Head of Force, Stephen Strumheller! Check the interview that I did with him below!

BH.K: Hi, Stephen! Since you are the owner of Riptide here in the camp, can you talk a little about it?

S.S: Riptide has been known to find its way back to its owner. However, the only time it doesn’t is when it is found by a Demigod or given to a Demigod! I happened to come across it in a Pawn Shop in New York and it has been with me since!

BH.K: That’s so nice! Did you ever participate in any quests or situations in the camp when you needed to use Riptide?

S.S: I was with the camp when we had one of the Demigods of a minor child who was wreaking havoc upon Camp Half-Blood and I help defend the camp. It has become my weapon of choice when it comes to putting it all on the line. Though I am sure I will be on a quest with it here soon
